Cornhole for Kitt: K9 Kitt Foundation Event

July 17, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

K9 Officer William Cushing is the handler who was shot 5 times in Braintree a year ago while his partner K9 Kitt was fatally wounded by 3 rounds during a track to locate an armed suspect. Officer Matt Donohue, who sustained a gunshot wound to his arm during the encounter and subsequent fire fight has since made a full recovery and returned to patrol work. Officers Seibert and Cushing remain out of work as they continue process that day and recover. K9 Kitt’s sacrifice was a contributing factor to the survival of all 3 officers by his faithful and fearless advancement forward on the armed suspect.

In the wake of this, Officer Cushing has established the K9 Kitt Foundation in memorial to K9 Kitt’s actions. The organization’s (a registered 501, C3 non-profit) mission is to provide relief for violently injured K9 teams here and across the country as well as to provide support for equipment, training, care and assist in the establishment of K9 programs through grant submissions approved by the foundation needs assistance to begin it’s work. This unique foundation is born from a first-hand understanding of K9 team needs.
