Our thoughts and prayers are with the members of the Braintree Police Department after two police officers were ambushed, shot and wounded responding to a domestic dispute call. The Braintree Police Department K-9 dog, Kitt, was killed during the ambush while defending these officers. The K-9 was a 12-veteran of the force.
We also extend our deepest sympathy to the Worcester Police Department. Officer Emanuel “Manny” Familia lost his life while responding to a call of a swimmer in distress. Five officers entered the water and saved two teenagers. Officer Familia and a 14-year old boy tragically drowned.
